Requesting a Prescription

You can use Patchs to request a prescription from your GP practice.

To do this, you need to make a new request via Patchs.

You can use either Make a Request on the top menu, or the Make a new request button on the My  requests and messages page:

Clicking on Make a new request will take you to the Welcome to Patchs page.

Click on the Myself button.

You will be taken to the How can we help you? screen.

Click on the Medication request button.

If you have enabled your NHS Online Services account (see here), you will now be taken to the Medication Request page where you can select one or more of your medications using the tick boxes.

If you haven't set up Online Services you will not be able to see your medication history.

Instead you will be presented with a text box where you will have to manually enter your medications.

You should check your medication request details are correct, and then click Submit.

Patchs will then confirm that your request has been sent to the GP Practice, and show you a confirmation message similar to the one below:

Clicking the Back to My Requests and Messages button on the right will take you to the Requests and Messages page.

Here, your prescription requests will be visible on the Medication tab.
