Patchs will automatically confirm a Patchs patient is registered at your practice by matching their details to the Personal Demographics Service (PDS). When a patient has been successfully matched you can:
- Use the 'View patient in clinical system' link
- Save their messages directly to the clinical system
When a patient has been successfully matched
- Their registration status will be Registered
- Their NHS number will be visible
- A warning will show 'Name and DoB, or NHS Number matched. Please verify contact details.'
- You will be advised to verify the patient's contact details
This article explains how to verify contact details. Once you have verified the contact details and clicked 'I have verified patient's contact details' the warning message will disappear.
When a patient has not been found
- Their registration status will be Not Known
- A warning will show 'Patient not found in clinical system'

When multiple patient matches are found
- Their registration status will be Not Known
- A warning will show Multiple matches found in clinical system
- The What should I do? link will take you to the What to do if there are multiple patient matches in your clinical system article.
