So that GP practices aren't overwhelmed with Patchs requests from high usage patients, global and individual per patient request limits can be set from the Demand management settings page.

How it works

As a Patchs admin user you can limit how many requests each patient can submit within a 24 hour period, through Patchs Web and the Telephone Assistant, using the Global per patient request limit.

To set the per-patient request limits

  • Navigate to the Demand Management page
  • Open the Per-Patient Limits tab
  • Tick the Enable per-patient request limit option

Global per-patient limit

When the per-patient limit is initially enabled, the maximum number of requests each patient can submit in 24 hours shows as Unlimited.

To limit how many requests each patient can submit in 24 hours, you should enter the maximum requests in 24 hours.

To fully enable the per-patient request limiter feature you must also:

  • set up a message to show the patient when their limit is reached,
**The message should include guidance on what the patient should do if they have an urgent health problem **
  • Save changes

What the patient sees

When the per-patient limit is reached, the option to submit a request shows as Unavailable and the tool tip displays the limit reached message.

Individual patient override

You can override the per-patient limit for an individual patient from their patient details page.
