There are several ways to access Patchs:
- use NHS Login (see here) or the NHS app (see here)
- create an individual Patchs account (see here)
- create a Patchs account as a carer for someone else (see here)
- use Patchs without registering for an account (as detailed on this page)
Please note, if you choose to use Patchs without registering for an account, you will not have the following benefits:
- Not having your details saved each time you use Patchs
- Your medical information being password-protected
- Being able to track the progress of your requests
- Easily seeing if your GP practice has tried to contact you
- Viewing past conversations you've had with your GP practice
- Being able to submit requests on behalf of people you care for
Having an account also makes it easier for your GP practice. This is because they won't have to keep re-checking your details each time you submit a new request.
How to use Patchs without registering for an account
Follow the Patchs link from your practice’s website. The screenshot below shows an example from the Langworthy Medical Practice - your own practice's website may look a little different.
Once you have clicked on the Patchs link, you will be taken to your practice's Patchs Landing page.
Here, click on the Contact my GP button:
You will now be taken to the Patchs Login page.
If NHS login has been made available at your practice, you will see two buttons, one of which says Continue to NHS login. Clicking on this button will allow you to register with Patchs using your NHS login. For more details about how to do this, please refer to this article.
Otherwise, click on the button which says Continue with Patchs:
You will be taken to the Patchs login page.
Here, click the Continue without registering button.
You will be taken to the Contact your GP online page.
To continue, first you need to click on the Patient End User License Agreement link and read the information.
Then confirm that you: 1. have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions (1st tick box). 2. that you are aged 16 years or over (2nd tick box).
Check the two boxes, and click Continue without registering:
You will be taken to the Personal Details page, where you should enter your details. Information that is mandatory for you to enter has a * symbol next to it.
When you have finished, click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.
Doing this will validate all the mandatory information you have entered. Any problems with your details will be highlighted for correction.
Please note you must be aged over 16 to register to use Patchs.
If there are no problems, your request will be submitted.
You will now be taken to the Acknowledgement page, which informs you that we have sent you an email:
The email will contain a link to verify your email address.
If you don’t receive the email within 5 minutes please check you Junk email folder. If it's not there, please try to register again and check your email address is correct.
Click on the link in the email to complete the process.
You can now submit a single request for help from your GP practice:
