You can now initiate a patient message or video consultation to a PATCHS patient via SMS using buttons on the Docman toolbar.
An SMS gateway provider is required so that SMS can be configured and enabled in PATCHS - your account manager will help you understand how this process works.
How it works
Step by step
Sending a message to a patient who is already registered as a PATCHS user.
Find the patient you want to send a message to in the clinical system and click the message patient button on the Docman toolbar.
This will open PATCHS on the patient's Patient Details - Contact patient page.
From this page you can either send a free text message or pick a message from list.
To send a free text message by SMS you should:
- Type your message
- Tick to 'Send as SMS'
- Reply to patient, with or without reply required
The patient will receive a text message, with a link to the message in PATCHS.
When the patient follows the link, they will be asked to sign into PATCHS to read and respond to the message.
When the patient submits their reply, it will be sent to PATCHS and moved to your inbox, from where you can review and respond.
Scheduling a Video Consultation with a patient who is already registered as a PATCHS user
Find the patient you want to invite to a video consultation in the clinical system and click the Video call button on the Docman toolbar.
This will open PATCHS on the patient's Patient Details - Schedule video consultation page.
From this page you can video call the patient now or can schedule a video call for sometime in the future.
To invite the patient, by SMS, to a video call now, you should:
- Tick 'Send as SMS'
- Click 'Video call patient now'
The patient will receive a text message, with a link to the Video Consultation.
When the patient follows the link, they will be asked to sign into PATCHS to join the video consultation.
And you will see them in the video consultation
When your video consultation is complete, you should end the call from the video consultation page.
