What is Sick/Fit note AI?
When a patient makes a PATCHS request related to a related to a fit ('sick') note, the Sick/Fit note AI will ask them to complete the 'Fit (sick) note request' questionnaire to ensure all relevant information is captured, and the patient is advised to self-certify if appropriate.
If the patient is unsuitable to self-certify, their completed questionnaire will be submitted to the practice in their request.
The 'Fill out paperwork (e.g. Med 3, TWIMC letter)' will also be pre-populated in the 'What actions are required from you to resolve this?' triage decision question.
What are the benefits of Sick/Fit note AI?
Without Sick/Fit note AI, patients may not provide all relevant information for you to fill out a Fit note, or may inappropriately request a Fit note when they can self-certify. Advantages of PATCHS doing this instead are that it:
- Reduces workload, by signposting patients to self-certify when possible.
- Speeds up the consultation process by ensuring all relevant information is captured for practices to complete a Fit note when appropriate.
What should I do if I disagree with a suggestion from Sick/Fit note AI?
- If Sick/Fit note AI incorrectly asks a patient to complete a questionnaire (false positive) you should untick the the 'Fill out paperwork (e.g. Med 3, TWIMC letter)' triage action.
- If Sick/Fit note AI incorrectly doesn't ask a patient to complete a questionnaire (false negative) you should tick the 'Fill out paperwork (e.g. Med 3, TWIMC letter)' triage action. You can also ask the patient to complete a 'Sick/Fit note details' questionnaire manually by picking it from the list when sending them a message.
Because PATCHS is constantly learning, this will help it correct its mistakes in future.
